north and only flood shoal continued to grow to the north and the ebb spits on
both sides of the shoal almost closed off both the east and west channels around
the flood shoal. The west flood channel moved to the west and went almost
directly into the Fish Pier. The short Tern Island channel also became shallow as
sand was transported into Aunt Lydia's Cove. An ebb-oriented spillover lobe tried
to cut the ebb shield of the flood shoal and re-establish the west channel through
the flood shoal.
